Unexpected moments can often be the best moments. When going on an evening walk, i stumbled upon this “Kievit” (lapwing) strolling through the water. Luckily i had my camera in my backpack. As the kievit came closer to me the reflections in the water became more clear. Showing these trees, covered in golden light. As the bird started walking through these reflections i was able to take this photograph and a whole bunch more like it.

This picture of a “bosuil” (tawny owl) is a close second for photo of the month. Not because of the picture itself, but the experience. This is the first tawny owl i have ever seen in the wild and it took a while to find. After scanning a variety of locations, this bird suprised me. Sitting in this hollow tree
